Hi telecharge, Thank you. I see options to download the features advertised in the Cakewalk Pro literature. I downloaded and installed Rapture Essentials. Where I utilize the thin virtual piano strip located on the bottom of the Rapture Essential interface, I can't get a sound. Or when I utilize the Virtual Controller Keyboard in Sonar when I can get a synth sound apparently built-in to work fine. I've loaded a synth session in SONAR and have selected Rapture esentials. Armed the track. Recorded a piece of silence instead of sound. It must be simple I'm sure. I just need a kickstart to get rolling. :-) Oh btw, is there a way to search the forums better in the future? When entering the lone word "Rapture" in the SONAR forums (in order to avoid writing you) the website twice came back with "0" results. Has there really been "0" questions asked about Rapture since its debut in the Cakewalk forums? "Rapture Essentials" yielded the same results- 0. Thank you telecharge and community. Sincerely, JWP Edit: Does my issue have to do with not choosing "install ALL" when first downloading Rapture Essentials? If so then I did not choose that option but the other. Seeing those two options led me to believe that I would get Rapture PRO where its documented that Cakewalk Pro folks do not get Rapture Pro without considering paying more...

In order for Rapture to make any sound you first of all have to load a patch - have you done this?

telecharge Changes were made to the synth rack in the latest update. You can read about them here:
This documentation should cover you for everything else:
I typically use Google to search the forum when I need to. Example search: "rapture session" site:forum.cakewalk.com
Thanks for the Goog search string. I'll check out the Rapture reading soon. Bristol_Jonesey In order for Rapture to make any sound you first of all have to load a patch - have you done this?
I have selected instruments from the Rapture Essential interface and tried triggering from the piano strip. The preview strip. Is that what you mean? Thank you. Sincerely, JWP

Hello again, Can I install Cakewalk Command center in program files(x86)? I think that that will change where SONAR Pro and all subsequent components will be installed. I'd like to keep as many components of SONAR Pro out of my 32bit program file directory. Thanks. JWP

Hello, It appears that the paths are switched in Command Center by default. Is Cakewalk suggesting that not all VST plug-ins will be 64-bit with this config? I am asking because I want my 64-bit SONAR components to automatically go to a 64-bit home. Thanks. JWP

In a 64bit installation, SONAR places the few 32bit VST plug-ins which lack 64bit ports into the 64bit plug-in path.

Hello, It seems that command center has installed SONAR Pro 64 to my 32bit program files. Is there a common mistake for this in the forums? I couldn't find anything when looking. Please note the install path in the foremost window. I am looking for program files(x86) instead. Thanks. JWP

"Program Files" is the 64-bit folder. "Program Files (x86)" is the 32-bit folder. Based on the screen shot, it seems SONAR is in the correct folder for 64-bit operation.

Ah. The legendary Craig. Seeing as I was reading the first ever books on MIDI in 1986- authored by YOU, I'll buy that factoid that I sorely overlooked. Thank you very much for the simple once again. Sincerely, JWP
