There's a band called *skeleton key?!* I just wrote a halloweeny song called that! Have they trademarked their name? *make amurica great again* was trademarked can you believe that?! The drums sound incredibly good on this. I need to take some lessons from you. The eagle-eye view of the song though is that it needs some more contrast. It's a little repetitive.

Thanks for the feedback. Used a Audix D6 for the kick mic. SM57 for snare and some cheap overheads which I sweetened up with Soundtoys plugins. Yea they're a great band from NY. Been around a while now. http://skeletonkey.org/

I really enjoyed this piece. I'm reminded of King Crimson of the 80's. They used repetition, too, but very creatively. They added and/or took away various elements with each pass. I look forward to hearing more of you in the future.

I liked it, too! Your doubled guitars are punchy as all heck. How did you record them, twas it an amp sim? My apologies if I was grooving too hard to catch anything about a fish. cheers, -Tom

Thanks Tom. Yea the guitars were recorded direct then Guitar Rig 5 for distortion. Then I copy guitars to stereo track, hi pass till about 350Hz, send to wide chorus or microshift plug, mix in SUBTLY with dry guitar. I do this for a lot of the mono instruments to get a wider more sparkling top end.

Dan, Loved the motif starting at :55 ish and reappearing later. I can definitely hear the Primus influence, nice stuff. I, like my bandmate The Pogue, would like to hear a bit more low end...just my pref. But that being said, this is a very cool tune and it sounds great! Nice work.
