Weird "drag loops from browser" problem

Has anybody else seen this, and what might be the cause?

I'm using some DrumsOnDemand drum loops in a project. I drag a loop from the browser to bar 59. I have snap on set to Snap To Whole Measure. I drag the loop and drop it at bar 59 but I don't see it. Turns out it has landed at bar 8:3:655. i.e. not only is it in completely the wrong location but it is also not snapping to the start of a bar. Makes no difference if I have my Now Time where I want it or not. The loop lands in completely the wrong part of the song. This is really annoying. I drop a loop and then have to go searching for it. I have to colour all my existing clips a different colour to the Track Colour so that the new clip stands out so I can find it. What's going on?

Anyway, this is nothing compared to what happens when I try to drop a single hit. The drum library also includes single drum hits as well as the loops. So say for example I have a really nice loop at one point but want to add a crash cymbal at the start of the bar. Whenever I drop a single hit in they don't turn up earlier in the song like the loops do. Oh no, they turn up later...  much, much later. The only way I know they have landed at all is because I see the little grey dots in the track that denote there is recorded material after this point. I drop a single hit at bar 59 for example, and I find it at bar 1325:0:000. This is odd as I only have 90 bars in the song. In H:M:S:F this is 1 hour 15 minutes, etc. I have to zoom right out and scroll to the end to find the clip select and drag it back to where my project actually is. What is going on?
Any ideas? Can I solve this issue?
