Saving a project vs. saving a scene - what is the difference?

SPLAT - HP Envy 7
What is the difference? If there is one?
I use the save scene function to do A/B comparisons all the time.
I usually save what I call the Initial Mix as a scene - basically no mixing changes or anything.
Then I will use the scene function to save different mixes.
When I am done, I will save the project.

What does saving the project do?
I get what saving the scene does.
Just curious if I am letting my OCD control me when I save both the scene and then the project.

Yes, you're using both functions correctly. Creating / saving various mix scenes and then saving the project because the project file saves references to those mix scene files.
