Sfz files - distorted.

Hi there.
When having a nice sample I wish to use I convert the wav file to format sfz to play it with sforzando.
Now I find some of my sounds come out with unpleasant distortion, although the original wav was maximal -20 dB.
Even worse, the file which wasn't distorted in the original version, turns out to be distorted after conversion. For converting, I use SfzEd.
Any suggestion what's going wrong, and how to do things smoother, please?
Regards,

Ok, thanks that you had let me find out for myself. ;-)
I converted the sample from 48KHz 16bit to 48KHz 24bit, entered it in SfzEd and got a clean SFZ-file which I can use now.
Maybe other users might find this solution helpful.
