Typical Melda plugin, highly involved, you never get cheated out code when they develop something under those bland GUIs. If they ever make their plugins more fancy looking I probably wont buy them.

I've been playing with it for a while and of course nobody can say which is the best reverb, this is certainly the most verstile reverb. It can do short, long, modern, vintage, etc. I'm planning on making some presets and if everyones presets sound good, IMO this will be the reverb to beat.

Doubt it will be the one to beat. The way preset exchange works with Melda will make it unlikely to ever have the vast array of reverb presets it will need to be useful to the average user. I read the manual and to be honest it seems like way too much work. If it comes with less than 200 high quality, usable presets I suspect it will be yet another super powerful but under used plugin. I like Melda's MMultiBandConvolution but with no library (commercial or otherwise) of well designed presets I use ReMatrix and its (not free) libraries. Same with a Eastwest/QL Spaces, you can't even make your own with it but the library is worth the cost. I actually think MMBC could be used to make amazing high quality reverb presets but I have no interest in doing that work. This new reverb looks like that with an even more complex algorithm / code layer. This holiday I've picked up two new reverbs (Waves H-Reverb and Reverberate 2.0) I think I'm all reverbed out at this point.

Once again, Vojtech has created the ultimate version of an effect with every conceivable feature - and only hardcore nerds can actually figure out how to use it. I'm a fan, of course. But I also used slide rules and pocket protectors long after they'd ceased to be fashionable.

That's the message you get in MMultiBandConvolution (or I believe any of his plugins) when trying to do the preset exchange. In order to even browse what's in the online exchange you have to submit something. On one of the other Melda plugins I made an actual good preset and submitted it, only to find the online exchange pretty much a barren wasteland. Not playing that game again, ever. The idea that forcing paying customers to provide free labor and development in order to get access to presets bothers me. If they are designed/pro presets, they can/should be commercial products (are there any paid presets for any Melda products?). If they are just users sharing stuff, they should be just available. A hidden online exchange with a labor requirement is a reflection too loud and boomy, my high pass filter says reject!

So true. After 50 years of playing I've finally figured out how the knobs on my Twin Reverb work, and now I'm supposed to design presets? After it gets past a few knobs I'm lost. I depend heavily on people like Bitflipper and their slide rule. On the other hand, I have written an extended monograph on Plotinus' influence on Medieval Idealism as reflected in the writings of John Scotus Eriugenia. I'd be glad to email a copy to anyone who's interested.

Maybe we could use Melodyne and transpose it to a major key.

Just read the MTurboReverb documentation this morning. Melda has outdone itself on this one in terms of crazy levels of innovation. This plug-in is mind-boggling. Whether that translates to commercial success remains to be seen. But anybody with at least a little nerd-DNA is going to have their geek receptors humming like nobody's business when they check out what's under the hood of this baby.
