No audio when Melodyne creates Region FX

I've recently upgraded SONAR Platinum to 11.2016 release, as well as Melodyne Essential 4.1. I've not used it before and today tried to use it on a very small region of a vocal file, to correct one note in pitch.

I set up the region as a loop and then click Create Region, which it did, very nicely, except when I play it there is no audio. I undo and there's audio, and then redo and it's gone! I've turned off Global FX and turned on Input Echo, but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

Help!

Note: If the clip is locked in some way/Greyed out, Melodyne will not work.
     ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Best practices:
1- Left click + Drag and slide to select a Region of Audio (on an Audio track).
2- Right click on that dragged/highlighted Region.
3- Select Region FX > Melodyne from the right click menu you activated in step 2.
     ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Theoretically Melodyne should open and you should be able to see and hear your clip.
But as I said before, take precautions ensuring your Data is not locked.

That's exactly what I did!  After creating a region, there's a grayed box over the selection and the Melodyne window opens showing the blobs. But no audio!!
It's supposed to work seamlessly, but 'no cigar'!
I don't think that the data is 'locked'. I didn't lock it..

Is it an audio driver issue?

Looks like Sonar can't reference the location Melodyne is storing its audio clips properly. Not in front of my DAW atm, can't check. Will look later. Sonar & Melodyne interactions are bug-ridden.

Cant say I agree with this statement at all. Ive used Melodyne as a Region effect for 2-3 years now and have yet to see 1 single bug. I should add, I don't ask Melodyne to fix full tracks, or every track. I use it to fix sections that are either A- out of time, or B- out of pitch. I also bounce the Region FX after every edit.
I know there are some users who have had problems using Melodyne, saying it crashes their system but I have yet to see any of that. And the users who have complained, ive yet to hear one complaint of a silent track, silent audio like the OP.

    Back to the OP:
Make certain you don't have any Mute or Solo buttons engaged on any tracks.
That's about all I can think of.

Copy/Paste of Melodyne clips, or moving a Melodyne clip from one place on its track to another. Boom. Crash to desktop. Multiple versions of hardware, multiple OS's. Melodyne almost unusable because of this. Same behaviour all the time.

AFAIK, Melodyne clips aren't meant to be moved around, copied or pasted. If you want to do this, I'd suggest rendering them in place, then you can do what you want with them.

If the track you are Melodyning is record enabled it will be muted when you click on a blob or when play is started from the Melodyne window(by double-clicking in the Melodyne window at the point you would like to begin auditioning). I had a track yesterday that was solo'ed and was inaudible when starting to audition by double-clicking in the Melodyne window, I unsolo'ed and it was audible [note: when you double click in the Melodyne window it will play and you will only hear the track being Melo'ed ie. it is "solo'ed" automatically]

    +1

Melodyne and its integration with Sonar have been flawless here, barring one rounding error I discovered when it first came out.

If something is misused it may well misbehave.

Thanks, all! It works now. The track was a Take lane, which was designated S in order to promote it. I had to remove the S in order to hear it in the Melodyne Region. Then I had to re Solo it after I rendered the Region, which is also somewhat quirky to do, as it took two or three tries to get it to render. Not sure exactly what I did to get it to work, though. I'll just have to play with it a lot more to get it 'seamless'. !
