I KNOW through experience, a key reason to stability is relatively new audio interface units AND keeping the drivers and CMOS up to date.
Amen. Preach it, brother!
I was one of those "hold on to Windows 7 as long as possible" people because it
worked. I lived through the Vista Wars, and tried Windows 8 on a test computer - only to recoil in horror (even after updating to 8.1). So I was loathe to try Windows 10, to say the least.
I eventually went to Windows 10 on my office computer because I
had to. But after about a month into it, I updated my Studio A computer, Studio B computer, and laptop to Windows 10. Never looked back. Only wish I'd done it sooner.
BTW WASAPI Exclusive on a laptop is astonishing.
