Helpful ReplySo if Cakewalk (or Anderton) were to do some videos, what would you want to see?

Yup, with Sonar University,  I noticed that if you click on "Get Started", "Go Deeper", or "Master Class", and then select the 2015 videos, you get 13 choices for the first level, then 1 video, and then 1 video, respectively.

Refresh time?

And the videos are really promos and not instructional. Very fast moving even when replaying there are missing behind the scene shortcuts going on showing off a feature.

University is fine if you been Schooled.
Protools tutorials are all over youtube and even if it is a crap DAW you can be better at it then Sonar because there are some very good Professional Instructional Videos, there are alot of crappy amature ones too!

Magic: when you feel inspired to create which in turn inspires more creation.

And the corollary: if magic happens inspiration might flog it to death with numerous retakes.

Make Sonar a mainstream DAW!

Yes, I agree that both updates AND organization are in order for Sonar University.

I believe I saw another thread recently where someone was requesting up-to-date video content for Command Center, which is the same content as Sonar University AFAIK.

I would like to see how one goes about copying a multi mic drum segment and blend it at the start and end points so that it sounds like a perfect match, and little timing variations are taken care of. Kind of like feathering the edges of bondo on a car dent, so that it will look like nothing happened. I do fairly well, but it's never quite perfect. I know, some will say just retrack, but sometimes that can't be done. These masterful edits are an important part of the mix process. If I got to pick, I would have two overheads, top/bottom snare, top toms, two room Mics, two bass drum Mics, hi hat mic.

Then, mastering say, a 4 song EP. I'm not looking for the details of compression or eq. More along the lines of do you line up songs end to end, or use 4 stereo channels. How do you level match between songs. How do you edit in pause time between songs. What are the most Prefered methods to edit metadata. How do you audit/listen back through all of the different file types like MP3, wave and the like.

Then maybe what might be the best practices 'producer hat' time saver tips within the current toolset architecture. Then 'engineer hat ' time saver tips. Then talent time saver tips - again, using the software to increase the productive time and reduce waste.

Then using the current toolset to record and edit audio for video, with maybe bonus footage on 5.1 and 7.1 surround mixing.

Then maybe, how we might go about getting certain older channel strip sounds coaxed out of the box for a Neve like 1073 sound, or an SSL G+ type sound.

Then taking a few current HUI tools and map them, adding common mistakes and troubleshooting tips.

Then maybe a best practices session on how to efficiently collaborate with another person on the other side of the globe as songwriters, then as mix engineers.

To me, that would all be akin to visiting Goodies in Bend, Oregon.
