Richard Thompson Workshop - Frets and Refraines 2016

If I was a guitarist and able to get there I would be all over this. Richard Thompson’s Frets & Refrains, Music Masters Camps At Full Moon Resort. Not only Richard and another favourite acoustic guitarist of mine Martin Simpson but a whole range of artists sharing their playing and songwriting knowledge.

Richard Says

This will be our sixth year of Frets & Refrains Guitar and Songwriting Camp. I could not be more pleased with the way the camp has evolved, and continues to evolve, into something more extraordinary than anything we could have imagined when we were putting the first camp together! Much of this is to do with the truly idyllic setting of Full Moon Resort. I cannot think of anywhere better to spend a week with like-minded folk, singing, strumming, writing, reflecting, and philosophizing on the possibilities of music. Added to this sympathetic environment, we have some of the finest musicians available to share their experience and insight, and a fantastic body of attendees, who never cease to amaze with their enthusiasm, breadth of knowledge, and development.

We welcome back Martin Simpson, Henry Kaiser, and Shawn Colvin to the teaching faculty this year, along with Jill Sobule, Happy Traum, Zak Hobbs, Jack Thompson, Simon Tassano, Annaliese Tassano, Sloan Wainwright, Bobby Eichorn, and your Camp Mom, Nancy Covey.

Sounds great, I bet they get good weather too. Thompson would have been a contender for 'under-rated guitarist' I think. Really like his playing, very visceral.

    Hi,

NP: Fairport Convention - Liege and Lief - "Reynardine"

Still one of the prettiest things ever recorded with a guitar! And the voice wasn't too shabby, either!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!
