    Now what was I talking about .. oh
     I would interchange the pent scale with the blues scale. 
    Ex. C Maj 6/7/69/13 etc. = E blues

    So any e blues licks you know and use all the time can be put in new situations for new sounds. Mostly they serve as extensions of the chord structure. Ex. C Maj 7 = cegb
                                                            E blues= egbd with a Bb thrown in as a passing tone. It works out perfectly when using the 3 notes per string concepts for speed etc
