Odd, even tho having the latest version, installing the patch to the latest version fix it so far.

I'm making a note of this.

The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better.

Now for my other point. It's pretty rude and juvenile to trash a whole product and tell everyone to stay away because you, personally, have a problem that is almost certainly an issue on your computer, and not some horrible bug in Finale that everyone needs to stay away from.

Got the same issues as before on my 2nd system.  I've been using system restore and deleting registry items plus the ever popular look long and hard in app data.

Finale developers need to move past the 90s and realize ASIO is the thing to have working.

TWO WORDS:YOU'RE WRONG!

Been a Finale user since Finale 95.  That still works.  After research those who have Finale 25 also have Finale 2014. Guess which one they use more?

I've played around with it.  I would use it more if it had direct VST support.

Notion is about the closest for me, but I haven't upgraded to 6 yet.  Too many regressions according to some posts on their forum.

I don't do anything serious with notation.  Just leads sheets for collabs.  Light duty stuff.

I think if they added VST support, this would be the big bang!

It seems to have everything you could need as far as producing presentable printed scores, and the note entry via mouse or MIDI keyboard works well.  Perfect for collaborations.

But it's audio playback integration seem to be it's weakest link.  The internal sound font synth didn't seem to be able to use my low latency ASIO driver correctly.  It sounded like it was still defaulting internally to the MME driver.

But the MIDI file export worked well!  Opened up in Sonar for playback audition, no problem!

With VST for playback, this would be killer!

I am back on this train. No playback on 2 systems. Really has no ASIO support.

Other machine asks for authorization.  Tried to deauthoriize online. then page error.

They botched this. Many threads about no playback.

Done.  If they ever want me to upgrade again, $10 may do it.
