Can't get Addictive Drums2 .wav file to play

I dragged a small .wav file out of AD2 (using its 'drag and drop .wav file function) and dropped it on an audio track. I can see the wave form, but it won't play. Nothing registers in the meters when the playhead/now time marker rolls over it.  I don't know why? Probably something easy, but this is my first go with AD.

There's audio on track one and it plays fine. I have the AD2 vst on track two. The AD2 .wav file I created is on track 3, a basic audio track. The track header says ADDROP (19). All track outputs are going to the default master bus.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Is everything playing ok within Addictive drums? Drag the midi to a midi track and once the midi is playing do a freeze and it will create an audio file. Try that and see if it working.

Clip muted, lane muted, track volume down, some other track soloed,,.? One way or another this is probably one of the 'usual suspects', and not anything special about the audio clip from AD2.

Everything plays fine w/in AD. I can preview clips, etc. This is my maiden voyage with AD, or any Virtual instrument/MIDI for that matter.

Got it to work, though I'm not sure how. I abandoned that avenue when I was able to drag MIDI clips from AD onto a MIDI track and it worked; just had to route the track with MIDI events "out" through the AD-assigned track. Now, playing around in piano view (where I can see the note events) and with the sequencer. Uncharted territory for me.

I figured out I could add cymbal crashes where I want them in Piano Roll view, but I can't figure out how to get the kit pieces from the AD kit I'm using (Retroplex) mapped to the piano notes in Sonar in that view. I looked at the AD Keymap, but that doesn't seem to be talking to the Sonar Piano roll view. For example, AD has a particular cymbal mapped to key 89 (F5 key), and I can trigger that in AD's keymap window by clicking on the key, but in Piano Roll, that key is triggering something else.

How do I get them synched? Thanks for any suggestions!

You're probably right, that it was something simple. Still, I checked all the things you mention, and none were the problem. Finally, got it to work; tho, not sure how.

For SONAR to show AD2 instrument names in the Note pane of the PRV requires XLN to implement the appropriate VST2 feature in AD2 like Cakewalk and FXpansion do in their drum synths. Failing that add the data to the ".Note Names" section of your Master.ins and select it every time the PRV is opened or use a drum map and the Drum Grid pane instead of the Note pane.

Re-reading the post, the MIDI note value that triggers an instrument should be the same in AD2 and the PRV but that may not be F5 in SONAR. What MIDI note 89 represents in SONAR depends on the "Base Octave for Pitches" setting in Preferences > Customization > Display.

Thank you. I'll give a look at the drum map function. Appreciate the info.
