SYNTH RACK ISSUE
I made a new project template and docked the synth rack under the media browser. Since I have done this, Delete button on my keyboard wont delete the clips and I have to delete clips directly from sonar. I undocked it and problem solved. Anybody experience this issue too? Thanks

i have found that the only time this happens is if the synth rack is docked at the top, if it's floating or docked at the bottom everything is fine. i can have it docked at the top, then delete won't work, selecting docking options - dock at bottom returns delete key functionality to normal.

Yes. I discovered this in [SONAR 2016.11] http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3525387. The Synth Rack was docked at the top and the arrow keys that I use to navigate next and previous track weren't working. As soon as I undocked and closed the Synth Rack, the arrow keys began working again. It appears that the Synth Rack becomes the focused object for all keyboard input when docked at the top, regardless of clicking in the Track or Clip view. Hope this helps, -- Ron

Interesting! I ended up "binding" the delete key to "delete" in the Keyboard Shortcuts. I was/am seeing some other "unusual" keyboard behavior. Maybe this is the "ghost" in the works. I've been putting Synth Rack in the Browser, on top usually as well... T

Yes, here too. I accidentally found if I undock it or dock it to bottom, it wont happened.

why would key bindings get screwed up bc of a synth rack? this whole synth rack thing seems like a mess. the system was fine the way it was before.

As I have mentioned in one other thread, I could not really get so far to test keyboard keys... If the Rack is near the browser, as soon as new Synth is inserted it is collapsed. If it is on the top, there are only 2 ways to bring it back, by keyboard shortcut and "resizing" its collapsed "window". On the bottom it is still collapsed, but at least it can be easily restored. When collapsed it is stil wasting space. And so the only place where there is no side effects is in the multidock... I slowly learning to put and search for it there. Looks ugly, since I do not need any "extra controls" which appear is such state. But if I understand that correctly, Cakewalk think that making "Notes" in normally narrow Browser and listing synth in normally bright miltidock is what everyone else was long awaiting... I hope they will not continue with such "improvements".

Out of interest, for those experiencing this issue (no delete function when synth rack is docked at top of browser) do you have a lens selected or is your lenses setting set to 'none'? I only seem to have this weird behavior when I have a lens selected. It also stops my inspector shortcut working ("I")

Lens is set to "None" on my system and docking the Synth Rack at the top prevents the arrow keys from navigating tracks and prevents Shift+A from opening automation lanes. You can try the following procedure to verify. Steps to reproduce:1. Create new project. 2. Verify that the Lenses setting is set to "None". 3. Open Synth Rack and dock at the top. 4. Insert Cakewalk TTS-1. 5. Check All Synth Audio Outputs: Stereo in the Insert Soft Synth Options dialog. 6. Repeat Steps 3 and 4. 7. Click the first track in the Tracks Pane to make it the current track. 8. Try using the Up and Down arrows to move to the next track. Expected results:The arrow keys should navigate to the next or previous track. Actual results:The arrow keys do not function on the Track Pane, but instead navigate the 2 instances of TTS-1 in the Synth Rack Workaround: Undock the Synth Rack, Dock at Bottom, or Dock in MultiDock Hope this helps, -- Ron

no, no lenses here, its not an issue for me really, i either don't have it visible or if I do i'll have it docked at the bottom.

Yeah luckily all these issues are easily fixed by moving the synth rack. Thanks for the extra info, glad i'm not alone!

My problem is that the bottom docked Synth Rack minimizes each time I add a new synth to my project. Every time I add a new track, I have to un-minimize the Synth Rack window. That has never happened before.

I wonder if this is due to the new Notes tab and the synth rack. Possibly focus going to the notes editor, for adding text in the new notes tab when the synth rack is engaged to the browser.

Found another one - "Inspector" key shortcut "I" not working only on SOME files when Synth Rack is docked at the top. Moving it fixes the problem. Really losing time each day with these new issues.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is. SONAR Platinum 64bit, Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Polywell Core i7 x98 3.33GHz, 24GB RAM

Above I mentioned the Inspector shortcut doesn't work only on SOME files - turns out they're older files. If I use a template with the synth rack docked at the top all is well, but if I move the synth rack to the top in an older file the Inspector shortcut does not work.

Confirmed. Not a fix, but I keep the multidock over everything else (full screen width) so when it's open there's no inspector or browser visible. The I key works properly in track view this way. I=Inspector view B=Browser view (nothing)=Synth view (Synth view needs a quick key. I use A)
