Not about Sonar: NI - New Native Access

I am sorry to post this here :

Previously we had NI Service centre which is presently Native Access.
Two provision are missing in Native Access
I.  checkbox saying "Delete file after installation"
ii. The button "Install" combines both Download and Install.

My problem is I download at my work where I have decent Internet connection but not at home.

Is there any option that I download the update at my work and bring them to my home to install.

I have taken the following route:
I have installed Native Access on my PC at work.
I log on
Select the product.
Click Install.
It starts downloading in the specified download folder : it creates a .toc file and a folder for downloading.
It downloads around 10MB chunk as .part files, once it completes downloading all the parts it combines them into an .iso.
Then it starts installing. After installation it deletes the original downloaded .iso file.

Here when it continues the installation I simply make a copy of that .iso [^C ^V]
Then I delete the original as I don't need the installation on my work PC.

But I have to sit and keep a constant watch when the part have been downloaded and installation in progress.

Any other way?

Have you posted this on the Native Instruments forums?
More likely to get an answer there directly from their tech support.

BTW, this post will probably wind up being moved to the "Studio / Software" subforum, so you'll be able to keep an eye on it there.

I can relate -
And admittedly, the NI forums aren't always as user friendly as this place "usually" is.

But, if you look there, you might find someone has already run into similar issues and posted about it.
Good luck addressing your problem!

Native Access is still a work in progress with a few bugs to iron out, but from what I've seen so far I think it will be a big improvement in the long run - hopefully!

It is very annoying.
One possibility is to make the download folder on a special drive that isn't often used.
Then use Piriform Recuva or some such undelete tool on that drive.

There are quite a few Native Access threads down in the Software sub-forum. Not sure if this question has been addressed but its worth a look. There will be other tips and workarounds for other issues.

Intel i7 3770K @4.4GHz, 32GB RAM, 240GB SSD System disk, 2 x 2TB and 1 x 1TB (with SSD Cache) HDD. Windows 10,  Sonar Platinum. Roland Quad Capture.

I haven't yet downloaded Recuva.
But tried in the following way:
Selecting the Download folder
Properties>Security>Advanced>Change Permission>Edit> Then checkmark Deny for Delete & Delete Subfolers and Files.
Result is an error occurred while downloading the part files because the process starts downloading the files as .incomplete and then renames them as .part. Once completed then it joins all the files to .iso and deletes the .part files.

I will download Recuva and deploy, before that I need a free HDD.

A workaround could be downloading the files manually:

Log in to your online account and navigate to MY ACCOUNT > My Products and Serials.

Click the DOWNLOAD button next to a serial number to download the respective product.

SONAR Platinum
RME HDSPe AIO - Windows 10 64bit - Intel i7 2600K - 16 GB RAM

The New Native Access doesn't have Download. It has only install [combining download and install]
The old Service Centre had these option.

I think, you misunderstood what I wrote:

I'm not talking about Native Access or Service Center.

Go to NI's website and log in to your account.
Your products are listed there with the option to download them.

Newer products (normally installed/updated via Native Access) come with a "Downloader.exe" to download the instrument in a second step.
The "Downloader.exe" provides "Download" (only) and "Download and Install".

Older products (installed via Service Center) are also manually downloadable from this site/your account.

I have Native Access download to my desktop. All it leaves behind is shortcuts, which I move to a folder of instrument shortcuts. I've seen no problem with leftover installation files.

SONAR Platinum
Windows 10
ASUS X99E WE
Core i7 5960X
32 GB Corsair DDR4 2133 C13
Fireface UFX USB driver 1.098
GeForce GTX 950
