Automation on output Bus in Sonar V8.53

I still use 8.53 due to a serious vision issue that prevents me from using the newer products. Recently I have had two operations on both eyes that included a cornea transplant followed by my cataracts being removed. My vision has not improved with these procedures so I cannot use the newer Sonar X? offerings.
 
I own a copy of X1 & X3 but I cannot see the text in the grey boxes & in many other areas because the text is far too small & lacks the distinct brightness & contrast that I am able to achieve in Sonar V8.53. 
 
I couldn't find automation lanes in Sonar 8.53 that exist in X3 but I did find that if I used the Tab on the lower 1/2 of the screen there are 3 tabs on the bottom #1=Bus #2=Synth Rack #3=Media Browser & if I click on the Bus Tab my Synths disappear & I am presented with a blank screen until I play the song & then I get wave files being drawn as the song progresses. If I turn on automation "W" on the Bus & use a dedicated fader on my M-Audio Axiom 61 by pressing "W" on the Bus it will record the movements of the fader & draw an actual graphic representation of the fader movements similar to the Volume or Pan on a regular audio track. When the recording is complete I can click on the NODES that were recorded and provide any corrections that I might need to due to erratic movement of the fader during the automation recording.
 
So far so good! This part works great considering I could not find any documentation that this was even possible. So the end result is perfect automation on this Bus that sums all the Brass section to one Bus rather than having to record automation on each individual track.
 
Here's where the trouble starts. I tried to copy this automation on my summing Bus called Brass (which I assume works since there is no warning or indication that it is not working) & then paste it to another Bus. Even though the copy & paste functions are listed on the drop down menus when I try to paste the automation to another another Bus nothing happens.
 
Can anyone shed some light on this & tell me what I'm missing in this procedure?
