JohnKenn Question confronting me is when is enough finally enough. May be a lone wolf on this, but is there anyone else out there that has hit the saturation point? John
Good post John. I have reached the same point and and it's rare that I will even take up freebie offers. I have also read many, many similar comments on Gearslutz. It does have potential ramifications for software developers. Can't imagine that I'll ever buy another software compressor.

As we olders trend inevitably towards the "saturation point", the plug-in developers will find new markets - like cigarettes, dev's will start marketing to children. Get ready for Joe Camel phat. Maybe this is a worthwhile metric: how many plug-ins or gewgaws did you buy last year? And, how many finished songs did you crank out? It would be nice if they were in equal measure, at least. That's about where I'm at. And Bapu must have finished about 800 songs? cheers, -Tom

That's the first one I go to. I could care less about Sonar possibly having stability issues. Something wrong there.

There is no saturation point when it comes to "I have too much stuff" posts.

Fleer What's a finished song?
Any song performed by Nightwish, Poets of the Fall, Children of Bodom*, etc.. Jeez Fleer I thought you knew that. (*3 of Finland's most popular bands)

Alt definition of a finished song: Any audio project or work that your wife or kids will no longer permit you to work on.

I think that with all the great plug-in black Friday, well actually everyday, deals this year a lot of people are at or near the saturation point. Companies must be feeling the pinch monetarily to offer such good deals. I picked up quite a few this past month so I will have to lay off buying, start reading manuals and experimenting with what I have.
The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better. A girl group finished it a few years before him IIRC. Isn't it a pity?

Surfing the web for that final deal?
No, sorting through the freebies to see which ones are worth keeping. There do seem to be a lot this year.

And a group girl finished him off some time ago. Now THAT's a pity.
