Possible to record MIDI one-shots with Addictive Drums 2?

Is it possible to record just a one-hit (say, a cymbal crash) in MIDI in AD2? I see I can record a .wav easily in the GUI, and I know you can drag/drop MIDI clips onto a MIDI track, but how about just a one-shot of a drum piece?

Thanks for any help.

Open AD2, go to your Kit page. Top right corner there's a question mark. In there is Key Maps. Select the General MIDI key map. You can use your keyboard controller to tap on any of the kit pieces.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.
