AD2 midi file location
Hi all... Does anyone know where the Addictive Drums 2 midi files are located? I know how to add my own midi files to an external folder, but I can't seem to find the default location of the midi files that came when I purchased extra ADPaks... Used the Win 7 search for all midi files, but still couldn't find any that were not in the external folder location. I've emailed XLN support, but I just thought I would see if I could get a quicker response here. Thanks!

Just realized that posting this in the Cakewalk Instruments forum might have been a better choice... sorry.

Thanks Soundwise... Just downloaded the midipaks that I purchased via your instructions from my account... But when you say embedded, do you mean there is no way to actually access the default midi files that shipped with AD2 that was included in Sonar Platinum? Salud!

Hi. It is possible to drag and drop the MIDI files from AD2 into SONAR. From there drag to Browser / folder of choice. Not necessarily easy, but doable. All the best.

I drag 'n' drop the midi from AD2 into midi tracks in Sonar all the time, its easy peasy. If I need to export I can then just drag the midi clip/section/whatever from Sonar to the Windows desktop like normal. I can't think of a reason to import into AD2 since it can just be controlled like any other instrument but possibly I'm missing something.

The beat manipulation tools for the dynamics and timing are pretty cool. Create a beat in step sequencer. Drag into AD2 and massage the rhythm. Then drop it back into the track. I've never figured out if you can save it into the an AD2 bank

I like the some of the midi beats and patterns in AD2 but am more familiar with the workflow of EZDrummer 2. Also received this from XLN support: "unfortunately, you are not able to find the AD2 midi files. They are integrated from within the program and are not possible to extract/export. Sorry!"

Well you can extract them. Just one by one. Drag the header from ADs2 into the track. I don't know EZdrummer, but maybe you can drag them in like you can with AD2

If EZDrummer does allow you to drag a beat from the track into it. There's no reason why you can't just drag from AD2 to EZD, as when you drag it out of AD2, it's just Midi data.

Soundwise MIDI beats are embedded into AD2. If you need separate MIDI files, you can download from your XLN account, by adding '/offline' to the url: https://www.xlnaudio.com/myaccount-myproducts/offline then scroll to the bottom of the page.
If you wants the midi files with minimal effort this ^^^^ is how to get them. Log in to your account and click the link above. Rocky

Correct... I just wanted to know if it was possible to use the default AD2 midi files that came with Sonar Plat when I first installed it, not the separate files that I purchased later... I probably mispoke during my initial post. Thanks!

This seems to be the best way to access the default AD2 core library beats! Thanks again Kam and others...
