17" Laptop - desktop replacement

Hi guys, I've been using an HP 3020ea laptop for the last 7 years (see sig) on the recommendation of this forum. It's been great for my needs - mobile but drives external monitors at home. Getting a little long in the tooth now 
 
Is there anything around off the shelf for desktop replacements? Due to the plummeting £ custom build costs over this side of the pond shot up by 50% (£1200 in March, £1800 in December). 
 
VGA has disappeared so possibly need a gaming machine that has good enough CPU and two HDMI?
 
Any thoughts appreciated :-)
