[SOLVED] How to export MIDI from Cubase to Sonar in absolute time
tl;dr; How can I take a MIDI file from Cubase (with lots of tempo changes, e.g. every bar is slightly different) and import it into Soar (so all the tempo changes line up)?
I have taken over a recording session from another studio. They use Cubase, I use Sonar. I have all the files, and a version of Cubase that will open the files.
The drums were not recorded to a click, so are all over the place, tempo-wise. The audio drum track has been replaced by a MIDI drum track (the original drums were awfully played and recorded). The other studio have used some sort of tempo mapper to align the MIDI track with the rest of the audio tracks, but when I export the MIDI, the tempo changes are lost.
Is there a way to export MIDI in absolute time, rather than M:B:T? or can anyone suggest another method?
