Some Imported Files Cracking and Popping

Hi everybody,

When I import .wav files from the media browser some of them end up with lots of popping and cracking.  Files and project are all 44.1 kHz...any ideas what may cause this?

Thanks!

Donny

As a little bump to this, my previous imported project had about 50 tracks.  As I listened back to all the tracks for the first time, I noticed that the bass track waveform was clipped for about the last half of the song.  Same thing for a drum loop.  I figured there was a recording glitch.  When I looked at the waveforms in Adobe Audition, they looked fine beginning to end.  These tracks also had the same intermittent popping and clicking I mentioned above.  I have the most recent drivers and my samples are set to 1024.  CPU usage across all my cores does not go about 50%

Here's another curiosity.  The second song I observed the popping and clicking with, some of the imported waveforms have tiny blips in them.  On the first version of song, these are the tracks that popped and clicked.  I created another project, imported the clips individually, and the tiny blips are in the waveform, but no pops or clicks in the audio.  If I freeze the track, the blips go away.

In looking at some of the other posts where Windows 10 updates may be a related issue, I have just started using CA-2A in the ProChannel just about one week ago.  Not sure if that's related or not.

Again, any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
