Help, tracks/clips grayed out -- can't paste them

Hi,
Two of my four tracks (or clips, not sure) are grayed out.  Strangely, I can copy them, but not paste them.  Also there is a strange tool in place of the move tool.  It looks like the move tool except it has a horizontal bar instead of the double-arrow horizontal.  It has the same vertical arrows.  I think I accidentally put those two tracks (or clips) into some kind of mode I don't understand and don't know how to get out of.  The grayed-out tracks are not muted.  They sound OK.  Can anybody help?  Thanks.

Arbitrarily this happens to me.  I go up to the control bar universal mute button, mute all the tracks and then unmute all the tracks and they're fixed.  No clue what I do to make that happen, its another sonar *work around*. Your problem could be different!

Thanks Eph221,  I tried your fix, but it didn't work.  Unless somebody can help me, I guess the only thing I can do is read the entire Sonar manual until I can figure out what happened.  Sigh.

I figured it out, and I didn't even have to read the whole manual :-)  I had clicked on the universal FX button (under the universal Mute button), and for some reason, that grayed-out two of the tracks.  (Why only two?!)  Anyway,  I unclicked it and things are back to normal. Thanks for your reply.
