[Solved] Red square in the Solo/Mute/Record buttons? What is this?
I have no idea what this little red square in the upper left of these buttons! Researched Solo Override, Executive Solo and other options but I cannot get the little bugger to go away...and have no idea what I did (as surely I did something!) to have it appear in the first place. It causes odd behavior when trying to use these buttons in assorted groups. I've cleared groups etc and other options but to no avail. It's more irksome than anything else as I've been able to work around it. Still....."The Forum Knows" surely. Michael

Could it be that you changed the recording mode? I don't have Sonar on this laptop, so am just taking a guess at the moment, but if I remember correctly, the upper part of the transport Record button changes, depending on which option is set - Comping, Sound on Sound, Overwrite, Step Record. Maybe you could click and hold on the transport Record button and then make sure the desired option is set from the list that will pop up. If Solo and Mute are displaying something as well, then I don't currently have any clue - in the morning, I can do a little digging and experimenting, to see if I can help you figure out what is happening. Are you sure it isn't grouping? A colored square in the upper left of a control is how grouping is indicated.

Yes, it's a control group indicator. I know and use the one that's shown near the track meters to link faders all the time. But this had me stumped for a while. Off to work now, but later today I'll have to try to figure which tracks are linked via the mute/solo buttons. Thanks all Michael

The Group Manager will make it easy to track this down.

By the way, in case anyone else has this problem, here's what Red Square looks like. However you need a VERY high resolution monitor to see it in SONAR's buttons.
