Specifying Clip Fade-In and Fade-Outs....

Hi Mates,

Came from Sonar 6 over to Platinum within the past 6 months and have not been able to select a linear fade in OR linear fade out when using the program...wondering if this is a BUG? When using the SMART tool and hovering over the clip end, it seems to only let me use the 'slow curve' and not the 'linear' or 'fast curve' option...as you might imagine, this is a rather big issue when I try to crossfade a couple of clips.

I do see that there is a 'crossfade' option under the top menu's PROCESS option, but that 'appears' to be more like a comprehensive and very permanent (destructive) way to do things - hopefully, I am wrong about this destructive behavior that I once was able to do quickly with a mouse.

I am hoping that I am missing something here, but it seems like a few key things have changed a bit in Sonar. To accomplish what I am trying to do (simply crossfade 2 clips on adjacent tracks), is my only option to use the PROCESS -  crossfade feature and then select one of the curve options that are presented?

Thanks so much in advance for any attempts to help me.

Cheers,

    To choose the fade type:
Click the Track view Options menu, point to Crossfade Type and select the desired default Fade-In, Fade-Out and Crossfade curve types.

Aye, Caramba! I had totally looked past that. I was trying to change the crossfade type while hovering with the arrow over the end of the clips and right clicking to see what my options were...I guess those 3 vertically stacked yellow and white crossfade icons are the equivalent of being normal 'grayed out' windows behavior, eh? Once I looked under Options, there it was...exactly what you said I'd find.

I certainly appreciate your help on this simple matter...thank you for your kind deed. It DOES also look like a better version of this than I was used to in the past - BONUS! I suppose you just have to know where to look.

    Cheers rlared!
