Setting up a MIDI keyboard

I'm using Sonar 8.5.3 and I have the Alesis Quadrasynth Plus Piano. It's connected to a MOTU interface. I've connected everything correctly, imported the patch list and Sonar records midi data from the keyboard, but I get no sound on Playback.

What have I missed?

Thanks - rev

How have you connected the Alesis Quadrasynth Plus Piano to the MOTU interface? If it's via MIDI cables, then you need to connect the MIDI out of the MOTU interface to the MIDI in of the Alesis.

Does MIDI data actually reach the Alesis Quadrasynth on play back? If not, then check your MIDI output settings in the Sonar preferences. Also, make sure the output of the track you have recorded to is set to the Alesis.

    All the best.
