I have multiple drum synths, but every one of them, AD 2 included, lets you load up a kit, or make a custom one, and then create your own patterns by recording midi data on a midi track in Sonar.
I never ever never use pre-constructed drum loops for my own compositions, because I like to create my own rhythms, and AD 2 certainly lets you do your own stuff too, just like all the other drum synths.
Just work with it at the kit level, rather than loading up any pre-existing patterns/loops.
