FWIW NAMM is becoming increasingly less relevant to software companies. You won't see Ableton, Native Instruments, etc....not sure if P-heads are going to be there or not. I'm sure Steinberg will be in the Yamaha ballroom so I can say hi to my friends there, and Avid will be at NAMM because one of their representatives is on a panel discussion I'm moderating. But I've also talked to a company that said this will probably be their last Winter NAMM show, and after last year's Musikmesse fiasco, I don't know how many are going to take up the slack there. I don't know what Cakewalk's current plans are, I'll be there mostly for Harmony Central.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

Me too. I searched but only found something about disappointment with Elecktron and  a vague reference to some guy 'slinging' credit cards.
    Inquiring minds want to know.

    I found this

The 'official' story is attendance was up over 2015.
Apparently the format of the show was also changed but again the 'official' report is that it was a big success.

For the past 3-4 years, Cakewalk's presence on on the NAMM show floor has been relegated to a computer studio setup at the Gibson/Tascam booth, and one dude answering Cakewalk-related questions, and that's pretty much it. True, some software companies have opted out of NAMM, Propellerheads being one of them (mostly due to cost, as their crew primarily comes from Sweden), but German-based NI has had a booth. Waves and Spectrasonics (and some of the other sample library companies) still have huge NAMM booths. Cakewalk, being an American operation, normally has had a large booth at NAMM (I still have a Project 5 t-shirt I got as booth swag many winters ago), but things have changed dramatically since Gibson took over.
