Old computer is toast, need to do a complete reinstall

So Im a new cakewalk owner. Unfortunately, my old 775 based computer has given up (died). So I have to reinstall on a new, well new to me computer. Is there going to be any issue, do I need to inform anyone at Cakewalk? I'm a registered Sonar Platinum for Life owner. Just wanna make sure when I go to reinstall everything that it is going to be as pain free as possible....
Anyone ?
Thanks

Initially, you shouldn't need to do anything other than download & install Command Center (CC).
Once you sign in to CC on the new PC, all your registered products will be available to you for install on your new computer.
It's okay to run your software on more than one machine as long as it's your equipment.

Before installing any of the Cakewalk software from CC, go into the settings on CC and make sure your paths are setup the way you want them to download and install.

May take awhile to get everything downloaded & installed, so good luck, and have patience!!

If you have Addictive Drums, you'll have to go to the XLN site and reauthorize AD.

If you still have the hard drive from the old computer, put it in the new machine as a back up data drive.
Then you can simply point command center at the download folder on the old drive and you won't need to re download everything.
    Its found / Drive root/ Program Data/ Cakewalk/ Command Center/ Downloads

Not only that but if you good at this most of your old stuff will be there and ready to go.

Wait a minute- are you seriously saying the old computer was a 700 mz? like 1998? New computers don't have IDE hard drive connection if so.

you could also get an external usb case and pop it in there, and then connect it via usb to the new machine

    just a sec

If you can use the old IDE drive, copy the CCC download folder to the new HDD/SSD. Same with projects.
Your IDE drive is way past full retirement age, give it a well deserved rest. It served you well.

For AD2 and Melodyne, you need to de-authorize your old PC and authorize your new one. If you only run AD2 and Melodyne on one PC you can skip the de-auth. AD2 has a separate program to do this. I think Melodyne does it when you run it standalone.
All the Cakewalk stuff will authorize automatically if you install it with the Cakewalk Command Center.

If the computer dies BEFORE you de authorize Melodyn you have to e mail support and tell them your sob story.
They will send you a new activation number.
AD is easier, you just use the online installer to remove the old computer from the list and add the new one.

And FYI you'll have a heck of a time buying anything to do with IDE. They stopped making external enclosures probably 5 years ago. I still have 2 that still work, barely. W10 won't open them. I have to use my W7 laptop.

OP says " New to me computer "... maybe he upgraded to a P4 so :)

A little tip : if you are installing latest win 10 build

Make sure everything you install that will be used by sonar platinum ( effects , vst's etc etc ) are installed to C:Program Files . Don't install anything to (c:program files x86)

Keeping everything on ( c:Program files - platinum, effects, instruments, etc etc ) allows platinum full permissions with this latest win 10 build .
