X3...Left channel fades in on exported audio

This is driving me crazy. I mix from my main PC using SPlat down to another PC with X3. The waveforms of both the left and right channels are good and even at the beginning of the recorded mixdown in X3. But when I export that to a 16 bit stereo wav file and reimport that wav file into X3 to check the width of the waveforms, the left channel annoying "fades in" within the first second or so. Obviously I want both channels to start the playback full on equally. Why is X3 doing this to my exported wav file? I did crop in the beginning of the mixdown recording a bit to eliminate a couple of seconds of silence, but I made sure I did a real crop of both channels and not a fade in of just one channel, which is easy to do if I'm not careful of course! Has anybody experienced this?

You must have some sort of envelope somewhere on that second machine. either a clip, track or even bus / master volume envelope or an fx somewhere on it.

You also must have a good reason to export to another machine. Normally we export to our local disks.

9 out of 10 times its automation or fades not put in the correct spot (fading a stereo clip/clipping one side).
when you say crop, do you mean fade ? or automated a node ?

I would use automation for this process. as in open a lane and drop a node in there and do it this way with pin point precision. If you haven't explored automation in the lanes you don't know what your missing in the professional world of digital audio multitracking / mixing and mastering.

Thanks, guys…right, I'm using automation, and yes, I meant "fade" as what I was trying to be careful to avoid doing to one side by selecting and dragging the clip wrong. I made sure I wasn't doing that.

The thing that is strange is that it will do this fade-in-on-one-side thing several times in a row when I make a wav export of the project, and then finally after those several attempts I'll get a wav that doesn't do it. What's more, when I just start playing the project right in Sonar, it will do the fade-in thing maybe once or twice, then when I quickly stop and start it again, it won't. Just bizarre. But yes, I'll make sure there is no effect of some sort inserted on the clip properties.

Anyway, I finally got a wav with no lopsided fade, so it's no longer a critical issue for me, but I was just wondering if this glitch happened with anyone else.

Also, Bitman, sorry I wasn't clear…I don't export to another machine, I actually mix down to another machine. The fade in problem occurs only when I export to the same computer the Sonar project is on.

    Again, thanks for your input!
