Anyone using a Sony C-47 Mic?

One came my way today and it's a blast from the past. It's a large diaphragm condenser mic with a 6 volt proprietary power supply. I'm not a transistor guy so I'm trying to get educated before I start playing around with it. Being from the 60's I'm sure that the caps will need to be checked before powering it up.
 
I hear they're pretty good when functional.
