Sonar Platinum : projects take a while to launch
Hi, I'm not sure if it's related to the last update but now, all my projects take a while to launch. Once the project is launched, it works fine. Even creating a new one take a moment : open Sonar -> File -> New -> BASIC takes at least 30s. Anyone experienced this ? Any ideas about the causes ? I deleted the Picture Cache but it was not this.

If you suspect the last update, roll back and see if the problem persists. You may also want to check your windows event logs.

You can roll back only Sonar throught Command Center or it's about a Windows 10 roll back ?

Rolling back SONAR is a fast and easy thing to check especially if you still have the old version cached. Windows is a different matter.

I'll be interested to hear the solution to this as I've noticed the same thing. In fact Platinum itself takes a long time load too. For me it's a new installation (2016.12) so I have no previous versions to compare it too, but compared to X3 it's a looonnggg time loading.

Yes but how do you roll back only Sonar please ?

I have 64bit X3, 2016.12 and the early release of 2017.01 installed. They all take about 2 seconds from launch from an SSD to start screen running Win10 on an i7-4790K, automatic background is enabled.

Yes. Only SONAR. Done in CCC. Right click on SONAR and choose Rollback to previous version. All the best.

To roll back SONAR: - Run the Command Center
- Right-click the SONAR Platinum line
- Select a version from the Rollback menu. The versions are listed in chronological order.

Thanks Zargg and scook. I did it but that's not it. Perhaps the last Windows 10 updates :(. I tried with my old X2 and X1 and same thing. If anyone has ideas about this issue, I take them :) ? I have graphical glitches during the launch but again, once launched, it's ok. I analysed my HDDs and no problem reported. I tried safe mode but no clue either. Sonar itself lauches pretty quickly and I noticed that a project with only audio takes less time to load but as creating a new project takes a long time too (and in X2/X1), it's still a mystery. I tried with Sonar 8.5 Producer and it's ok.

Well, I did a test : I opened a test file (just the basic template) done in Sonar Platinum in Sonar 8.5. I saved it in Sonar 8.5 and than opened it in Platinum : instantly. So it seems something in the .cwp makes Sonar hangs out. I tried with old files that have never been saved in Platinum and same hang out excepted for files made in 2010 (I think made with Sonar 8.5).. I saved again the test file above in Sonar Platinum and reopened it instantly again. I let the 2 files if someone can test them please to see if it's the file or my configuration : at home, test_platinum.cwp takes a while to open, the other takes 1 s. http://photos13.free.fr/Sonar/test_platinum.cwphttp://photos13.free.fr/Sonar/test_8.5.cwp

I copy/paste what I wrote in the other thread : I find the culprit which is not Kontakt or other plug-ins as in Safe Mode, I click Yes to All and it opens instantly. It's the Browser that makes my files take a while to open (Safe Mode prevents the Browser to be opened). If in a file, the Browser is docked (minimized or not) or undocked but opened, it takes a while. If I undock the Browser and close it, next time I open the file, no problem but if I click on B to open it... long time. Once the Browser is opened, I can minimize/maximize it with B with no problem but if I close it... again a long time to open. It also explains why a file made in Platinum, saved in 8.5 and reopened in Platinum is loaded instantly as the Browser didn't exist in 8.5. I found this but I have no floppy disk listed : https://www.cakewalk.com/...wser-slow-on-some-comp
