The video is pretty good (in Japanese with English subtitles) and this 73 year old man had been trying to solve it for 10 years, but couldn't. He asked a TV station (or some show) to help him solve it......interesting bunch of people tried to solve it.

I imagine that if someone can put it together, that it can also be taken apart and changed, or done. But that one is a bit beyond my patience level, I think!
