Kontakt 5 with loop-based plugins

Here is some embarassing newbie questions dealing Kontakt 5 in SONAR:

I have open kontakt 5 as an instrument in SONAR and added a midi track with output to Kontakt. Then in Kontakt I have opened scarbee funk guitarist and recorded some key changes to the MIDI track.

1. Ehh... when I play it up in Sonar and then stop, the guitarist keeps on playing (just like IRL lol)! How do I set it up so it just plays when I want to?

2. Maybe related to 1. If I for example add another instrument in SONAR (Addictive drums), the key switches are now played as drum sounds as well as the gtr loop. How is that even possible? Same thing if I add a Rapture sound.

I think that was all for now.

    1. I don't have Funk Guitarist, but I think it is playing phrases. So, once a phrase started, Kontakt plays it until it finishes, no matter if Sonar keeps playing or not.

    2. If you add a new instrument without creating its own midi track, it will default to the first existing midi track, so your Kontakt midi will also feed the other instruments. Another option is that Funk Guitarist is creating midi data which is sent to other midi tracks as midi input. In the synth rack, disable "midi output" for Kontakt to prevent this.

    1. It is playing phrases yes, but it is looping these phrases to eternity if I dont press the key switch for stopping.

    2. Solved! Disabled "midi output" did the trick. Thanks Ralf!

There's a particular key on the keyboard that makes the guitarist stop playing I don't have it in front of me now but it's a different color than the other Keys have a look at the manual and you'll figure it out you need to trigger that key to make it stop playing

I found out by accident how to stop the neverending playback (and at the same time sync the gtr play to tempo). In the top bar over the rack, there is "Master volume", Master tune" and BPM with some buttons that doesn't make sense. Press "Ext" and the gtr is synced to the rest of the band, AND when you press space in playback it actually stops playing!

Its hard to find a solution when you don't know what's wrong...
