No 9 and No 10...

I can't resist black smoke cats, so we saw this pic on the SPCA web site and decided to drop by.

The poor girl was abandoned outside, locked up in a crate on the side of the road in December. They told us she was shy but the minute I sat down in the room, she jumped in my lap and started purring...

And then this guy decided he was coming along. His name is Marshall - and you guys know I'm a Marshall guy. :P His previous owners were moving and couldn't keep him.

I've always said (jokingly) I'd end up with 12 cats. Well, that's only 2 more rescues away.

Rain, you are mad with cats!

Our outdoor cat 'Shadow' died last week at the grand old age of 18, and we need a cat to keep the mice down around the stables and sheds so we got 3 yr old  'Sid' here from the Cats Protection League. He's only got 3 legs (hit by a car) but it doesn't seem to bother him

We had a 3 legged cat, it was amazing how little it hampered him. He did have a bit of an attitude, probably due to all the Manx cat jokes.

We are currently down to three cats (from a peak of 5) with a full compliment of 12 legs. Mind you my wife keeps looking at British Shorthairs so the population could grow again.

I always wanted a male cat I could name Marshall.
We just rescued an all white male cat from an abandoned used furniture store with the owners blessing.

His name annoyingly enough is Snowball. When I called him Marshall he just looked at me like
"you idiot, I hate you". So fine, he's fixed so he's now, "Noballs". He'll come running to that.

We got a cat thread now!

Sid is the 2nd 3-legged cat we've had. Our Siamese 'Tik-Tak' lost a front leg after falling out of a tree and catching it on a branch on the way down. She adapted really well though, and could catch birds, moles, mice, toads.. Great character, I still miss her.

Someday I will again be back in a living establishment where I can have a pet or two.  My plan had always been to have a couple of cats (NOT one - I want them to have a buddy when I'm not around).  But, after renting a room from my friend who owns that Boston Terrier (now my little buddy), I'd have to seriously consider either a couple of those or maybe one of each - IF they could get along with each other.

Look at those eyes!

Well Sid, meet Syd.

When we decided not to have kids, we thought we might as well rescue a few more cats.

People think that 10 cats is a lot, but I look at people with ONE kid and I feel that that is a lot. :P

If you get any more felines, you'll have to start a catalogue.
