Great vocalist, who is she? I'd be giving someone that good plenty of credit if it was me. All sounds really good but some of the guitar fills sound like they're falling in the wrong place on the timeline, and the fuzz guitar doesn't fit the mood to my ears.

What's the story behind this song David? It's world's away from anything else I've heard by you.

haha, it's worlds away in production, but not composition.  Thanks for the comment, james.

You're welcome. Not going to say who the singer is then?

I pm'd info.  BTW there's an interesting polemic there if you want to discuss:  composition vs. production.  The lines have certainly been blurred.

David, this really works for me.  The chord progression and melody are superb, as is the vocalist.  My only suggestion would be to turn her up in the big finale, where the instruments compete with her.  The lyrics shine and need to be heard.  Otherwise, this is a stellar production.  Btw, who is she?

    All the best,

Really nice David. Because of the vocal, it reminded me of something Randy Crawford might sing.

Nice work.  Since this is a draft, I won't comment on the nits.... other than to say some of the piano parts in the first part of the song need some tweeks.  And I hit the rewind in a few places because it sounded like my dog was whining....but it was something in the tracks.

All together as a draft, that's really a hot song. The vocalist kills it.  This could fit into a movie soundtrack like a hand into a velvet glove.

Yes, I know what you mean.  There's some important lyrics there:

    As it comes to pass
    Can't throw it all away
    forgive yourself your sins
    you know god already has.

Thanks for listening Lynn.  BTW I presented this to someone in the Christian market and he said it wasn't *christian enough*.  I thought the various imagery (rise, sins, forgiveness...etc) and the overarching message were very Christian.  Oh well.

Like the tune! Great singer and what a voice!

You have a guitar that joins in (acoustic?) In the beginning and it really is not complimentary to the song. My initial reaction was that you you applying some strange tape effect. :/

Good one David. Cool yet warm vocals. Engaging guitars. I liked the way the drums and bass kick off at 1:17 and then rest off at 3:17.

Wow.  What an emotional trip this song took me on.  Your singer nailed it also!

I don't get how it's not "Christian enough."  I'm into and write Christian music myself, and I have heard songs with lyrics less Christian than this by national bands like Skillet, Red, etc.  The Christian music industry confuses me.

I really like this song.  A lot.  The climax sent CHILLS down my back.
