Mobius VST looper with MATRIX strategies?

Hello guys.

Just found out about this VST that looks promising: the MOBIUS vst looper

http://www.circularlabs.com/

I've just downloaded it and will try it soon, but I was just wondering if a lot a people here used it as well and, if so:

Any recommendations on strategies as how to use it in conjunction with the MATRIX VIEW? I am planning to use MOBIUS to track loops for guitar, bass and 1 mic input (quick back vocals and toy percussions) but I would like my other backing tracks to be triggered by the MATIX view in sonar.

Any controller strategies to recommend? I have a MIDI foot pedal controller, a motor 49 keyboard controller and a mini MKP controller that I can use in a very "basic" way one at a time, but I am now trying to figure out the best setup using at least 2 of those... NOTE: I think I would have to daisy chain the MIDI flow like this - the MOTOR 49 might need to go into the FCB1010 using its merge function. This because I am force to connect the MKP mini or the motor 49 in a USB hub, so I do not know yet if I could use both at the same time using USB..

Thanks.

Yummay,

I've used Mobius in the past, but I didn't use it with the matrix. More recently I've been using Live for looping. I use a Roland FC-300 with Mobius and have ten switches assigned. I can't say that I've ever used insert. That barely scratches the surface of what you can do with it.

    3  multiply
    4  mute
    5  undo
    6  previous track
    7  next track
    8  previous loop
    9  next loop
    10 insert

    Thanks for your answer Rsinger.

One thing that troubles me though... I cannot use MOBIUS' multiple outputs in sonar. I'm only seeing the first out... Can you use Mobius' multiple audio outs in SONAR?

That led me to evaluate alternative: LIVE and some custom-made loopers made for REAKTOR...

I first looked at LIVE again...  (have a LIVE LITE 9 copy) and I am trying to test it rewired as a slave to SONAR. I was hoping to for this signal flow: Audio interface to SONAR - Sonar track output to LIVE track input - LIVE track output back to SONAR (to use my effects and only use SONAR's console view to mix both LIVE, and the MATRIX's tracks) BUT... yet again, it does not seems to work that way. I can only see LIVE'S audio outs back to sonar...

Are you using live rewired or stand-alone?

I have an EDP that I used for years and started using Mobius because it's a basically a stereo version of the EDP - so I just use the stereo outs, I haven't tried to use multiple outs. When I use live I use it stand-alone. The only problem I have with live is that in the session view there isn't the multiply function I'm used to - you have to change the quantize value or use their looper.

I tried some of the loopers in Reaktor, but I didn't find any I prefer to Mobius.
