Visual lag on meters, etc (when mixing)

I have 15 or so tracks recorded.  When I'm mixing, the meters lag, for example the gain reduction meters, in the compresors.  Doesnt seem to matter, sonar or 3rd party plugins.  I bought a hardcore computer, for this, but didnt worry too much about the video card, just opted for 'pretty good', or 'better than the cheapest'.

Hi. I cannot say that I have seem this myself. What kind of Graphic card do you have, which OS (Win version + X86 or X64), and which version of SONAR?
Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card, and is Windows up to date?
    All the best.
