SOLVED THANK YOU panning problem

hi everyone. I've done this a ton of times, however, for some reason I can't get it to work today. what am I missing?
I have a part that I want to pan hard right, it hit the WRITE button, start the playback, hold the mouse over the pan control then move it hard right it shows on the track that I did write the envelope but nothing changes. I don't get it." /> an control, move the pan where I want. it shows on the track that I did write the envelope but nothing changes. I don't get it.

So you are saying when you play back the track the pan control does not move and you do not hear it pan?

I don't know what is going on but you could try to turn off read automation and turn it back on and turn off Write automation to see if that does something different.  Also, double check the Write Automation settings. There is a setting that controls what happens when you have write automation on. the default should be to only write when a change is detected, touch mode or something like that.

Forget about automation for a moment - delete the envelope.

Now, does the pan control behave as you're expecting if you set it manually?

If not it's a routing problem, if it does we'll go back to the automation.
