Jump to Track?

Hi everybody,

Is there a way to jump to a particular track in the console?  Another DAW I'm using has a big tracklist and when you click a track on the list, you're immediately on that track in the editor or console with no scrolling...its awesome.  If the Track Manager could be docked, that would be handy, but I don't see a way to do that.  Even then you can't just click on a track in the Track Manager and be on that track.  Is there a way to do this in Sonar?

Thanks,

Donny

I don't think there's a direct equivalent but you could click the track in Track View and use the Inspector?

I have found something really useful...there is a key binding available to hide unselected tracks, or select the tracks to you want to focus on, press your shortcut, and there you are.  That's working pretty good to focus on less tracks at a time.  Then there's another key binding to reveal all the tracks again.

I second the Inspector suggestion. I've just gotten used to it and for most cases when I would have gone to Console view I now just hit "i" for inspector and the selected track's console view is available right there alongside Track view. You can toggle to the ProChannel as well. And switching between tracks is a breeze as the Track view becomes your "big tracklist".

Pretty sure the answer to your question is no, as there is no "big tracklist" per se in the sonar Console view

With something like a Mackie control, you can jump to banks of 8.

    Hey,

Go into the key bindings area and search for "track" and in the results one of the options you'll see is Hide Unselected Tracks and also Show All Tracks or Hidden Tracks.  Select your keys for binding each and apply them.  Go to your console, select a group of tracks you want to focus on, then hit the short cut key to hide unselected (see just the tracks you want), then that's all you see.  Then do the short cut to view all when you're ready to go back.  It does save on some scrolling for me.  It's not totally what I'm wanting but it's pretty close.

Mixbus32C has the track manager docked in the editor and console.  Clicking a track there puts it in view on both locations and that's insanely handy for big track projects.  You can get anywhere on the board in one click with little or no scrolling.  It would be SO awesome if Sonar would have this option this easy to get to.
