Accidental Ball of Dust
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RpNo0XzA4M Pretty amateur at making these new fangled video things. This is my third. ( I have two others up on youtube too) Recently had a work assignment up towards James Bay in Quebec. This is stuff I grabbed with my phone and then added a song I wrote about the earth and my understanding of it. Hope you enjoy it! JR

Yes your main vocal seems to have a ton of authenticity to it. In the beginning of the tune it's mixed in much lower than the guitars, so maybe boost the voc a little there? Really, whenever it's a whispering vocal, it's pretty quiet relative to the acoustics. I liked the lyrics, too! Great delivery as well. The bass has got an issue somewhere, it's not super bad as it is, but maybe something is mashing or clipping? Did you use a limiter on the bass guitar? If so, how does it look? The thing that really is getting me is your voice - I think you might sound like somebody kinda but I can't place it. Roger Waters maybe? No matter, nice voice. cool job. cheers, -Tom

Personally, I found this...great! Really, honest presentation! Authenticity goes along way with millenials, at least in pdx. If you're FAKE you're doomed.

Jeff, the two major impressions I got on the first go around are your voice and lyrics. They totally sell me on this song. You have a huge dynamic range in this mix, as Tom stated, and I'm on the fence with this. I believe you can still have the dynamics without sacrificing the clarity of the vocal. Other than that, this is stellar songwriting.

Cool song! It's got a bit of late 60's sort of vibe, with nice chord changes, arrangement and "earthy" lyrics. About the only nit I have is +1 to the above: the whispered vocals do get lost in the music and should ride a bit higher to better carry those lyrics.

Hey, this is a pretty good demo of your song -- vocals upfront and everything placed well in the mix... Allan=-=-=
