I heard it will not only include sounds from every single classic drum machine, but sounds from every drum machine that will be released in the future as well!

Looks like a fancy sample player to me.

I believe you can already do most of this stuff, and more, in AIR Transfuser 2 ... which you may already have if you picked up the AIR instrument bundle.

The website sure is beautiful, they'd probably win a design award for it, but I'm not sure the VST does anything different to other stuff out there.

Well, was waiting for Spectrasonics RMX 2, but this is way better than that could be. I'm in love.

At $199 it's a lot cheaper than what Spectrasonics is still charging for their RMX dinosaur.

True, but Stylus RMX has the timedesigner that I use extensively. I do not see something similar in this program at the first glance.

I can be missing it though. I will have to take a closer look.

The biggest problem for me is that it does not let you use your own loops/samples.
If they can give me that capability then I would probably buy it, otherwise I will pass for now.

Kontakt sadly does not allow you to do that, so third party developers can't either.
I'm not missing this, as Rhythmology's loops are manifold and ooze quality.

Re: Countdown to the future of RHYTHM 2017/03/03 20:46:52 (permalink)
You bring up a good point about Kontakt, but there are ways around that limitation.  There are some Kontakt programs that let you use your own samples but you have to play a game of renaming your samples to match what the program is expecting - for instance WAV01 might be a standard name so you could rename your file to match that name.  So it's a bit of a PITA, but it could be done.

But you might be right - there may be enough variety in the Rhythmology built-in loops to make it worthwhile.
I guess I will wait to read a few reviews and see what folks think.

Something as cheap and simple as Hollow Sun's GUI Shell for Kontakt allows users to load their own samples without renaming.
