Any Legend of Zelda fans?
The newest in the franchise "Breath of the Wild" is coming in 2 days. Many reviewers has called it a masterpiece, maybe the best yet. Zelda has come a long way since it's first release in 1986 :-) anyone else excited?

I believe the actual term is: "a colly jolly mustard field".... but, I could be wrong as I've given up on speaking elvish. Some history behind the 'composition'.... "This is a prototype for a future composition that embodies the funky, mysterious tunes that convey the vibes of being lost in a mysterious forest with no sense of direction."

I've got a good story about me doing just that. Some other time though.

That's awesome! I never played Metroid (I'm relatively new to gaming), but I hear it's really good. The new Zelda will be released on Wii U and the new upcoming Nintendo Switch, but not the original Wii...

You can play the original (and some of the sequels) online on some of those flash based gaming sites. There was a good one that had a ton of the old titles. Difficulty... it's requires a highspeed connection and a reasonably decent computator or else the lag is unbearable. Also... Flash (and sometimes Java... yuck) is needed. Pretty cool though if you can get the games running smoothly. Better off with the PC/Nintendo emulators though I'd imagine (where everything is stored locally so no intertubey lag is introduced). I haven't used those but would like to try them out. Of course this release will not be available... but those online/emu versions are for the old 8/16bit vintage games. Me and my cousin were total Zelda/NES hounds when we were kids. The original was the best out of the original series. Haven't played any of the newfangled ones (past the 16bit SNES era) because I dropped gaming once I became a moody teenager and started playing guitars/getting fuzzy feelings in my draws when gurls were around.

Ah... found it. http://www.nintendoemulator.com/nes/3173 That's the original Zelda online emu (or should be anyway). Requires Flash. Hover over the game area for Full Screen and other options. That site has a whole pile of the other titles too. Keep in mind I use NoScript (I only need to allow the main domain and maybe the googleapis domain thingie which I already had enabled for the Cake forums) and AdBlock so I don't know what kind of dumb ads or other silly nonsense will pop up if you raw dog it.
