content folder location
Edit: Does anyone else have any thoughts on Bob's comment below about the CCC being a better way to install, than just doing it locally? Thx --------------------------------------------------------- Splat won't let me choose content folder location during install. What's up with that I've been re-installing everything. So far, up thru Sonar 8.53 (which has folders where I want them). When I try to install Plat, it wants to put content folder somewhere else (F: drive). That's fine for any audio or midi stuff, but templates and stuff is not. Can I fix this?

Have you tried setting the location in CCC?

Thanks Bob. I'm installing locally (old school). Is that my problem?

I've just been going thru the process with a new machine myself. I don't know that you'll get the same results without CCC. You can still use CCC. If you place the files in the CCC download directory it will find them and use them instead of downloading. You might get the same results by installing just SONAR, then go into Prefs and set your locations. Also visit the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software and set ContentDir, ProjectDir and SampleDataDir.

So far I've only had one bit not honor my preferences in CCC. That bit is Studio Instruments. I had to move the sample folders and edit the registry keys specific to SI to get them moved.

I've recently noticed that regedit won't import reg files that I had exported (error message). Don't know what's going on with that. So, I'm a little leary of screwing with the registry at this point.
