Upgrading Sonar Platinum

I didn't have the money to pay for the lifetime membership at the time it was available. My membership has now expired. Now I have some money, I would like to upgrade. I would like to pay annually - as I have always done. Is this possible to do? According to the website, there is no discounted upgrade fee and I would have to pay $499 (or equivalent UK price) for, effectively a brand new product. Can anyone inform me whether there is any way to upgrade my membership account without using the lifetime updates.. Thanks
