2017.2 Sluggish in some ways, but solid

I've found that 2017.2 is not as snappy when editing midi notes. In fact I don't see what my edits look like at first because it takes so long to draw. It looks like its not working then a second later it shows up. Everything seems slower BUT . . . This thing doesn't crash. It's rock solid. I've been working on some intense midi projects that can really bog the system down and I usually get a crash now and then. Not now. If I could have the snappyness back AND the crashproofness, I could have my cake and eat it too.
