Windows 10

Just upgraded to a Windows 10 computer.
Will there be any problems downloading and operating Sonar X3 and any related Cakewalk software?

Thank you for any input.

None. All the Win10 compatibility issues I know of had to do with drivers, e.g. I had to retire my Tranzport. But no problems with plugins or with SONAR. And I was running 8.5 at the time, so I'm sure X3 will be fine.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Just get ready to some tweaking to the OS. There's a LOT more background stuff with 10 vs. 7

You would want to run all Windows 10 updates and update all of your Windows 10 drivers (from manufactures websites) before installing Sonar

    CPU: i5 4670.
    Video: Nvidia GTX560ti (latest drivers).
Audio IF: Focusrite 2i2 2nd Gen

    Internet always on.

    Software
    : Cakewalk by Bandlab (2018.09 B29)

None of those are really performance tweaks, just how to get rid of unwanted apps and annoying stuff.
I figured most of that out myself on day 2 of W10. I think most annoying is when you just get it nice they do an update and put cwap back you don't want,,, like Edge music, man I hate that app with a passion now just because..Please leave me with Win Amp or at least WMP.

I hate to hijack this thread, but I wanted to tell Dave that my Tranzport is working great with SPlat and Windows 10. I can't remember exactly what I did during the install, but I loaded the last drivers published on the Frontier web site. I probably fiddled with some compatibility options.

My Tranzport works perfectly too.  Bring it out of retirement.

Get your hardware (drivers) happy in Windows 10 and your Cakewalk software should be fine.

I am running Sonar X3 and Platinum here without issue.

However I also have some Win XP era audio software (non-Cakewalk) that will not install in Win 10.  If that happens, then the only choice is either to upgrade it to the latest release if possible, or retire it.

Overall, I am quite happy with Windows 10, once I learned how to wrangle with all that annoying stuff

DAW: CbB; Sonar Platinum, and others ...
