Delta Cygni [excerpt]

Hi Peeps,

Please forgive the name of this particular project. Because I'm not writing love songs and what have you, I end up having to find something "suitable" once the project is finished. So it's only a label really.

Also, I need to say that I don't post every one of my creations here, just the ones that I think I will get away with, bearing in mind my stuff is not really to everyone's taste, understandably so.

Delta Cygni, then, is an excerpt of a longer piece, which will be twenty minutes long when it is finally published.

The brief for this piece, by the "collective" I have made it for, was to create something with very little or no beat and no parts that would stand out. It will ultimately be part of an album of similar creations that, we would hope, help induce sleep. So, that tells me, "make a boring track." And, one of the definitions of ambient music is that it should not really be that interesting, that you could simply drift off and forget it was playing, and Delta Cygni, I think, fits this definition quite closely.

No video this time, so I suggest that you read the paper, or sit outside and listen to other ambient noises at the same time, or late at night when you want to go to sleep.

Okay, here is the link:-

Please, don't feel obliged to listen, I will totally understand and will be totally cool with this post disappearing onto page 2 with nary a comment

cheers

No worries at all mate......will give it a listen at home (unless the video is up first :))....these drones shouldn't go unattended. Speaking of which, Adrian has put up a new mix of "Feel Your Mind" and your ears would be greatly appreciated.

This would be ideal for that moment between wakefulness and sleep, (For those that manage to sleep), nice job Andy, I like.

Hi John,

Thanks for listening to Delta Cygni. It's surprising how many peeps are actually listening to this even though it's not something they would normally enjoy. I am eternally grateful

Yeah, it's drone-ish, but you still have a lot of activity in that space between dreams and consciousness (ala Wooks).

I listened as I ate breakfast and it was quite relaxing and enjoyable, and I managed to stay awake.  I didn't find it boring at all.  I marvel at how you create those soundscapes.

Thanks Phil

I also marvel at how everyone else here create excellent "conventional" music

I guess I am sticking to what I know because it is easier
