Jam Origin Midi Guitar Updated

To Beta 16......just need to run the program and click on Update Available.

Couldn't find anything on their site to see what's updated, but I'm sure it's an improvement.

Just went to update. I already have Beta 16. Have had it for awhile now, but for some reason when I just tried it will not run in 64 bit only 32. tried a few past betas and also can only run in 32 bit. Strange.

That's interesting Dan.....I have the download link in my email, but haven't installed yet. The only reason this even popped up was when I open a project (yesterday) with midi guitar in it, I saw the update available thingy there.

Could this be an old Beta installer that somehow got linked with the newer version?

Thanks Scook.....it's very possible that I have Beta 14 installed and not 16. Will check tonight.

Re: Jam Origin Midi Guitar Updated 2017/03/14 12:25:21 (permalink)
That's exactly what it was.....I had Beta 14.

I only installed the 64bit version and in stand alone mode, everything was working. However, under the interface tab after selecting my 2i4 and then click on 'driver', it always crashed Midi Guitar. Not sure if it's my 2i4 drivers issue with Win10 of something else with Midi Guitar & the 2i4.
Of course, it works fine if didn't click on that...lol.

Dan, have you tried to uninstall Beta 16, reboot and then re-install?

Hi Mesh  I don't think Midi Guitar actually installs. I have deleted The files and unzipped and then tried to run them. The Plug-in works in doth 64 or 32 bit but the stand alone only works in 32 bit. It worked several weeks ago and I do not think I have had any Windows or other updates since I last ran it.

That's really strange.....especially, if it worked in the past.

I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but I also make sure all my stand alone VST's (including Midi Guitar) match my 2i4 at 48kHz. Other than that, I really don't know what else to suggest......I would've done the same things you've already done. Very strange indeed...

Maybe this is why it is still in beta. Make sure to report any problems to the manufacturer. FWIW, no crash in 64bit stand alone here with one interface, a Presonus 44VSL running an older driver on Win10. Clicking the interface entry in MIDI Guitar brings up the interface dialog OK.

Thanks Scook. I have tried running it as admin, closing everything I could find including antivirus. It is odd that this version has worked in the past but not now. Previous versions do not work either just vst or 32 bit stand alone. I shall report and see if Jam Origins has any ideas.

Re: Jam Origin Midi Guitar Updated 2017/03/14 19:11:04 (permalink)

The case is solved. It was indeed a mismatch between Midi Guitar 64 bit and the audio interface. Of course there was no way to know that since I could not open the 64 bit app. I opened the 32 bit changed the sample rate on the interface and the 32 bit app to 44.1khz, closed the app tried the 64 bit it opened and allowed me to switch everything back to 48khz. it now opens and functions as it should. Thanks for the clue Mesh.
