Sustain Pedal

Help anyone? A-pro controller keyboard sustain pedal not responding correctly in Splat.  It works fine on standalone programs just not in Sonar.  When pressed on a piano sound (true pianos) it just cuts off any sound atall. When pressed on a pad sound (z3ta+2) it holds the sound as it should do but when depressed (taking foot off the pedal) the sound continues to hold and the yonly way of stopping the held sound is to click on another track and hit a key.  It also doesnt record sustain info on a recorded track.  i have checked midiox and sustain pedal working as it should..I have tried several different pedals and all have the same problem.  I have factory reset the Apro and as said, its working fine with standalone programs (true pianos for example) just not within Sonar.

one thing I'd make sure of is that it is sending CC64
open Piano Roll view on a true piano track and have a look at the controller lane to see if it's recording CC64

    Two more things to check:
In Edit > Preferences > MIDI - Playback and Recording make sure controller messages are checked.
Make sure the A-Pro is set to local control off.

But it kind of sounds like multiple settings or components are not quite right. Midi cable good? And when you say "standalone programs" do you mean playing just on your keyboard or do you mean using different software on your PC, such as a standalone VST host?

Steve, yep checked that and it's not recording any cc64 messages.

bvideo... yes all control messages are ticked in playback and recording. To clarify, when I say standalone I mean when I open true pianos as a program outside of sonar. It works fine with that. It's just when I open any vst in sonar that the pedal doesn't work. Strange hey

Trying to follow what it's doing.
    Is it working reversed?
Is there a changeover switch or setting that got flipped accidentally?

yes all control messages are ticked in playback and recording.

Will SONAR record Mod or Pitch messages? Is the MIDI track input set to the specific port and channel that the A-Pro is transmitting on? Do you by any chance have the A-Pro connected by both USB and MIDI DIN connectors?

Thanks for your suggestions. I have solved the problem. For some reason unbeknown to me (as I haven't created any custom ones) sonar had "key binded" the pedal as a shift key to use a midi controller for short cuts. I went into preferences: shortcuts: unticked midi and deleted the control for sustain pedal. All works fine now.
